Some New Year's resolutions are harder to keep than others. However, the resolutions that you can turn into habits are the ones you can keep for years to come.
Here are a few New Year's Resolutions for your home in the Lehigh Valley!
For many, this time of year is a time for family, friends, and a lot of mess at home. Take a break between Christmas and New Year's, but then plan to get a jump on decluttering your home after January 1. Be your own best friend by designating areas for things like blankets or toys so that they can easily be cleaned up after they have been used. Make it a point to clean up as often as you can, so the job is always small.
2. Tackle Some Small Projects
We tend to look at the big picture without looking at some of the small things that may be easier to finish, but tend to get overlooked. Have you cleaned your gutters yet? Are there chips in the concrete you can fix easily? Have you neglected some power washing? Get some of these small projects done first, then focus on the big projects.
3. Prepare to Sell
Is this the year that you're planning on selling your home? Don't wait to get a jump on it, contact At Home with Cheryl as soon as you can in the new year to make sure you're ready to do what it takes to get your home on the market and looking great.
4. Make it Safe
You've probably seen videos from home security cameras catching "porch pirates" that steal packages in the act. If you haven't gotten your own home security system, or simply added an inexpensive network enabled camera, you should. They are a great way not only to keep tabs on what's going on around your home, but to record it and show it to the authorities if something does happen.
5. Check Your Dryer Lint
This one gets a whole resolution? You bet. Be sure to check your entire clothes dryer for a build up of lint. A build up can lead to a home fire and it is one thing that many people overlook.
Here is to a fun and fantastic new year!
