The holidays are over and you may be somewhat relieved and a little bit sad that it's over. First, make sure you're happy that the holidays happened and secondly don't be overwhelmed by the cleanup you may still be looking at more than a week into January.
Here are a few quick tips to get you back on track in the new year!
1. Declutter and Donate
New gifts mean that you're going to have some older items you either need to get rid of or donate to those who may be able to use them. You can always sell them online, but the bottom line is that if you haven't used it in the last year, you probably won't in the next.
2. Organize Ahead
Get those lights down. Get that fake tree down. Get that real tree taken care of. Put the wrapping paper away. However, do your best to organize the lights and decorations in a way that makes it easier for you to take them back out again next year.
3. Get at that Kitchen
If you hosted dinner over the holidays, your oven is probably begging for a cleaning. Don't forget to give it a bit of love, too.
4. Catch up on Laundry
Laundry can be one of the first chores we neglect during the holiday season, especially if we don't need to worry about the work clothes aspect of our wardrobe for a bit. Get back into a good routine!
5. Perhaps it is time to Rearrange
Your current living and dining room setup has had a good run. Why not switch up some of the furniture arrangements to start the new year off on a brand new foot?
No matter how you get back on track this new year, we hope that you have a great one!
