When is the best time to sell your home? Ask 10 realtors and you may get 10 answers, but the data is relatively clear.
Each May, home listings across the United States spike and that leads to a rise in home purchases, take a look in the graph below.
In 2019, the “best” time to sell a home that would maximize return and minimize time on the market was May 1 to May 15. Simply put, houses listed in between those dates dates sold, on average, six days faster and for more than $1,500 more than an average listing.
Going even further into data provided by Zillow, homes listed on a Saturday received an average of 20 percent more views in the first week on the market compared to homes listed on Tuesday, for example.
